Welcome to The Hotel on Pownal, offering genuine island hospitality in the heart of downtown Charlottetown. We are centrally located for both leisure and business, near shopping, beaches, entertainment, dining, and all the wonders of Prince Edward Island.

From free deluxe continental breakfast to freshly baked cookies every day, we take pride in offering great value along with a distinct hotel experience. Our professional concierge team is available to recommend some must-sees and must-tastes of our capital city.

MEETINGS + EVENTS

In addition to our 45 guest rooms, we are well-equipped for business travellers. Host your next meeting or small conference in one of our meeting spaces, equipped with state-of-the-art conveniences. Space is available for groups up to 64 in rounds of 8 guests.

Sustainability

Contributing positively to the local community and environment is a top priority, which is why it is important to us to integrate sustainability into every facet of our guest experience.

Solar Energy

Our solar panel clean energy initiative covers 48% of our annual electrical needs from its main meter.

Reduced Plastic Waste

We have transitioned from individual toiletry bottles to bulk dispensers, significantly decreasing single-use plastic waste.

Greener is Cleaner Program

Guests are invited to help conserve resources by opting out of daily housekeeping services in exchange for a $10 Murphy Hospitality Group gift card.

District Heating

We are connected to PEI Energy Systems’ district energy plant, which uses municipal solid waste and biomass to provide thermal energy for heat and hot water. This system not only reduces landfill waste but also supports a clean, low-carbon energy future for Charlottetown.
