Hoteliers, Restauranteurs, and Heritage Tourism Developers, Kevin and Kathy Murphy have been proudly serving and hosting their fellow Islanders, plus visitors from around the world, for over thirty years.

Having purchased the former Islander Guest Rooms & Suites in 2008, they’ve completely transformed the accommodations into The Hotel on Pownal in late 2010. Their goal was to create a boutique hotel that combined the comforts of urban living, while redefining the hospitality experience of staying in the heart of PEI.

“The absolute best part about managing a Murphy Hospitality Group hotel, is having the opportunity, every day, to make someone’s day special. Even better than that, is getting to share that opportunity with an amazing team. From Housekeeping to the Front Desk, everyone here goes out of their way to make our guests smile and I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of this team.” – Kyla Thistle, General Manager, Hotel on Pownal
